Terms & Conditions

Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 27 September 2026

These terms apply to The Big Fun Choir, run by Mia Slayford (ABN 88 119 561 398) ("we", "us"), including our classes, events, website (thebigfunchoir.com.au) and members' app (app.thebigfunchoir.com.au). Please read them together with our Privacy Policy.

1. Who can join

You must be 18 or over to register, trial or become a member. At our discretion, we may ask for proof of identity to confirm your date of birth, and we may decline or close a registration or membership if age requirements aren't met.

2. Registering and your free trial

  • Each person may attend one free trial class.
  • Trial spots are limited. If your chosen date is full, you can join its waitlist, but a spot isn't guaranteed until we confirm it.
  • If you don't choose a trial date, attend your trial, or respond to our follow-up emails, we may close your registration after a period of time. You're welcome to register again later.

3. Your account

  • Keep your details accurate and up to date, including your contact details and emergency contact.
  • Your account is for you only. Keep your password private and don't share your login.
  • You're responsible for activity on your account. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has accessed it.

4. Subscriptions

  • Subscriptions are billed automatically in advance through Stripe at the price and interval shown when you sign up, until cancelled.
  • Your plan sets which classes you can join and how many classes per week.
  • For some plans, your card is saved when you sign up and your first payment is taken on the day of your first class. The date is shown before you confirm.
  • If a payment fails, your membership becomes past due and access to class content (such as rehearsal files and group chat) is paused until the outstanding amount is paid. Your place is held in the meantime.
  • To cancel, contact us before your next billing date. Cancelling stops future payments. It doesn't refund payments already made.
  • We may pause billing, or change your plan, by arrangement with you. We'll give you reasonable notice of any price change before it applies to you.

5. Class packs

  • Class packs are offered to selected members only.
  • A pack gives you the stated number of visits to each included class, and expires after the stated number of months from the day you buy it.
  • Your card is saved when you buy a pack, and the pack price is charged on the day of your first class. The date is shown before you confirm. If your first class is the same day, you pay at checkout.
  • A visit is used each time you're marked present at an included class.
  • Unused visits expire with the pack and can't be extended, transferred or refunded.
  • If the payment for a pack fails, access is paused until it's paid. When a pack expires or is used up, access ends until you buy another pack or start a subscription.
  • You can hold one active pack at a time.

6. Refunds

All lessons, class packs and subscriptions are non-refundable once purchased, and Sunflower Fund donations are non-refundable. Subscriptions can be cancelled at any time before your next billing cycle.

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that can't lawfully be excluded.

7. Class cancellations and public holidays

We reserve the right to cancel classes at any time. Some classes may not run due to public holidays. Class cancellations or missed sessions do not change the cost of your subscription, and no refunds or credits are given for missed or cancelled classes.

8. The Sunflower Fund

Sunflower Fund donations help fund choir places for people who need support. We decide how funds are allocated, and applying doesn't guarantee a sponsored place. Sponsored places can end if the funding behind them stops.

9. Communications

We'll send you emails and app notifications about your trial, membership, payments and classes. These are part of the service. You can unsubscribe from general choir update emails at any time using the link in each one, or in My Account.

10. Ending your membership

You can stop at any time by cancelling your subscription or letting your pack run out. We may suspend or end a membership if these terms are broken or payments remain unpaid. Deactivated accounts lose access to the app.

11. Health, safety and liability

You agree that you are responsible for your own health and wellbeing during your time at the studio or choir events. Students accept that participation carries minimal but inherent risks. To the maximum extent permitted by Western Australian law and the Australian Consumer Law, Mia Slayforrd is not liable for:

  • Personal injury sustained during lessons, except in cases of proven negligence.
  • Loss, theft or damage to personal belongings brought onto the premises.

12. Rehearsal materials

Rehearsal tracks, lyrics, sheet music and other class materials in the app are for your personal practice while you're a member. Please don't copy, share, upload or distribute them. Some materials are licensed to us and are protected by copyright.

13. Group chat and community conduct

  • Be kind and respectful to other members and our team, in class, at events and in the app.
  • Don't post anything offensive, discriminatory, harassing, misleading, spam or advertising, or anything that breaches someone else's privacy or copyright.
  • Only share someone else's contact details (for example, when inviting a friend) if they're happy for you to.
  • We may remove content, and suspend or close an account, if these terms are broken.

14. Media and promotional consent

By attending choir sessions and events, you consent to being photographed and filmed. You agree that these materials may be used for social media, our website and other promotional purposes without further notice or compensation. If you wish to opt out of being photographed or filmed, please get in touch with us directly. You can also ask us not to use your profile photo in marketing, in My Account.

15. Updates to these terms

We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms & Conditions at any time without prior notice. Your continued participation in the choir and use of our app indicates your acceptance of any changes.

16. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Western Australia.

17. Agreement

By submitting a registration, creating an account, purchasing a subscription or class pack, or attending lessons, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agreed to these terms.
